Earlobes & Anderson - Welcome Joni!
BY KRISTEN RAVES, DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL COMMUNCIATION
Welcome to Grace Staff, Joni Vincent! We’re incredibly excited to announce the newest edition to the Communications Team at Grace. Joni will be filling the role of Director of Communications Management (Central Support) and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her here!
Joni moved to Indy a little while back when her husband’s job brought them here. They had heard of Grace, so they thought they’d give it a try. And, on their first visit here, Sarah McLaughlin led worship and they were instantly hooked!
Joni is an Indiana native and grew up in Columbus (Indiana…not Ohio). She attended the beloved Anderson University for both undergrad and grad school. (Fun fact: Rodney the Raven is the loveable mascot for Anderson…Edgar Allan Poe would be so proud). Joni has two children; Haley is 8, Jake is 4.
In her spare time, Joni LOVES camping and hiking with her family throughout the spring and fall. She also enjoys baking (pie is her weakness!), sewing and gardening. We’re hoping she might make some of those yummy pies soon and bring them into the office!
Something totally unique about Joni? She has one attached and one unattached earlobe. Who knew that was a thing? It’s said that people with subtle asymmetries can be better transformational leaders, and teams they lead outperform teams whose leaders have more-symmetrical bodies. She’s a pretty amazing leader so far…so we would have to agree with this study.
Joni’s ultimate desire as a Grace staffer is to help “spread the word” and get others more involved in our various ministries. If you’ve never had a chance to learn about them, check them out here. Leave a comment below to welcome Joni and make sure you say “hi” when you see her around Grace!
