BY KRISTEN RAVES, DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS
We can’t wait for you to meet our newest staff member! So, without further ado, let’s all welcome Ben Sanborn to our staff team. Ben is rounding out the Fishers Campus as the Director of Production Arts. So, when you see him this weekend, be sure to say hi and welcome him to Grace!
Ben isn’t new to the production field. He fell in love with church production while studying Audio Engineering at Greenville College outside of St. Louis. He said that the student run chapel services rivaled any church he had ever been to, and was instantly hooked. Greenville provided opportunity in the form of an internship at a place called, wouldn’t ya know, Grace Church - St. Louis. Ben wound up getting hired full time at the end of the internship, and has been doing full time ministry ever since.
Ben met his wife, Taylor, at Greenville and they got married shortly after she graduated in 2015. Not long after, they moved to Indianapolis and Ben worked at one of our neighboring churches! They currently have one pet: a cat named Darth Brooks (very creative).
Ben loves the outdoors, specifically camping, mountain biking, canoeing/kayaking, swimming, and longboarding. He’s also a HUGE sucker for winter sports of any type: hockey, skating, sledding, skiing, snowshoeing, all of the above. Hockey is his favorite sport (Detroit Red Wings), followed closely by NCAA football (Michigan Wolverines). Since I have the privilege of writing this article…all I will say is “OH”…Buckeye fans, you know what to do in the comments below (Don’t worry, Ben, we still love you.) When Ben can’t be outside, he has a few hobbies indoors as well. He and his brother tend to get competitive over some video games, but really enjoy spending a lot of time building their own electronics and making/producing music in their home studio.
Something unique about Ben, he’s never owned a pet that isn’t black. Over the course of 4 dogs and 2 cats, none of them have been anything but black. Maybe he likes them to blend in with furniture or rugs…like ninja pets.
When asking him what he wishes to accomplish as a staff member, Ben said, “I’m looking forward to being a part of the Fishers team, and really hoping that I’ll be able to continue to build into a great team of volunteers, draw closer to God, closer to others, and give my all in worship of our Lord.”
We know he will do that and more. Thank you for being a part of the Grace team, Ben!
