Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Daves of our lives...

Did you know Grace Church has seven Daves/Davids on our staff team? That’s one for each Dave of the week! In this 7-day blog series, we’re highlighting each Dave/David, and sharing some of the things that make them unique.

Today I’m interviewing Dave Rodriguez. Interestingly enough, Dave has been around Grace since “the warehouse days”. Dave is a great chef, most notably known for his famous hummus recipe (and—more recently—roasted Brussels sprouts).

CH: What is your name and how long have you worked at Grace?

DR: Dave Rodriguez. Nearly 26 years.

CH: Do you prefer to go by Dave or David? Why?

DR: Dave. David feels too formal.

CH: Which day of the week do you most identify with and why?

DR: Tuesday. It is a "3s" dream planning stuff.

CH: That’s really too bad, Dave. You’re widely known for bringing your A-game on Sundays, so we’re going to declare you “Sundave”.

DR: …

CH: Anywho, why do you love serving at Grace?

DR: I get to live out my calling and destiny!

CH: What is your Enneagram number/profile? Explain a little bit about your personality based on your Enneagram profile.

DR: 3 wing 4. I like to get stuff done and do it in an original way.

CH: What is the most random photo saved on your phone?

DR: It comes in handy on certain days…

CH: Who is the last person you exchanged text messages with? What was the conversation about?

DR: David Lowry about the Thai sauce we served at my son's wedding.

CH: What is your favorite music you’ve been listening to lately?

DR: My favorite music is a mix of Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Earth Wind and Fire.

CH: What’s in your Netflix queue right now?

DR: Nothing right now but am on the hunt for the next good thing to watch!

Thanks to the one and ONLY Dave Rodriguez for being one of the best Daves of Our Lives at Grace Church. If you see him around, ask him for one of his recipes—just not his marinara sauce recipe—it’s a family secret!

If you're not following Dave on the blog yet, you should be! Check it out here.

Dave Rod; try Shetland on Netflix. Only show I've ever really binge watched. Season 4 coming up in the not too distant future. (you may need to activate closed captioning...HEAVY Scottish accents)
