Welcome to LIFT (Loving Individuals and Families Together), the disability ministry here at Grace Church. It is our desire to serve people with disabilities and their families through a one-on-one buddy program, two self-contained classrooms and respite. LIFT is currently only available at our 146th Street campus.
LIFT – Grace Kids
LIFT – Grace Kids (infant - 5th grade) seeks to provide ways to love students with disabilities through weekend services and special events such as Movie Night and family picnics. To learn more about how to register your child or what to expect, visit the Grace Kids page.
LIFT – Student Ministries
LIFT – Student Ministries (6th - 12th grade) also strives to provide ways to love students with disabilities through special events, weekend small groups and the Buddy Program.
Weekend Small Groups. Small groups meet during Sunday services at 11:00 a.m. at our 146th Street campus. The lesson is taught by using dramas, skits, crafts, games, music and other interactive activities. We strive to have a 1:1 student/volunteer ratio. Small groups might be right for your child if they:
Are in a self-contained classroom at school
Do better in a smaller more intentional setting
Are more of a visual/interactive learner
Have difficulty sitting through an hour of bible discussion
Buddy Program. Buddies are high school or adult volunteers who assist students in the typical small groups and all other events sponsored by Fuse or Merge. A buddy might be right for your child if they:
Have an aide at school
Need to take frequent breaks
Need extra help with socially appropriate behaviors
Would do great on retreats with guidance
