A Heart for Partners

A Heart for Partners

Michele is no new-kid-on-the-block (do you have “Hangin’ Tough” in your head now?). She first came to Grace with her family about 10 years ago. (Funny enough, that is when I first met Michele too. I had just moved here from Florida and we ended up bidding on the same house in my sister’s neighborhood. She got it, but we're still friends and it led her to Grace, so that's even better!) Michelle, her husband and two teenage kids live in Noblesville. You’ll see below that they are quite involved in the community.
Michelle said that changing churches after they moved was not easy. They searched for quite a while and visited several churches until Grace became their home. Soon after attending, they fell in love and jumped right into serving. They are all involved in various ways from set design in Grace Kids to connecting Grace’s Partner ALARM with friends here. They are also highly engaged in the Noblesville community. Michelle’s husband, Troy, is a Wellness teacher at Noblesville East Middle School and their kids active in multiple activities at East and Noblesville High School. Michele also volunteers for Noblesville schools in various ways (she’s what you might call a volunteer addict) including teaching high school math, serving with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, coaching various sports (soccer, basketball, volleyball, flag football, and baseball), preparing tax data, and being an Arbonne Independent Consultant.
Having grown up in a suburb of Chicago, her church had two strategic partners downtown and Michele said that she was drawn to their ministries at a young age. Her first overseas mission trip experience was to Honduras at age 16. The look of true hope in our Honduran friends’ eyes is still impressed on her heart today as she learns to live contently. And since then, Michele’s been a member or trip leader to Japan, Mexico, a Native American reservation, Nepal, Thailand, the Philippines, Scotland, England, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and Rwanda. Her favorite part? She loves seeing how God has given her these experiences to connect with the Outreach & Partners team that she now works for!
If you couldn’t tell from her Noblesville volunteer list, Michele enjoys workings out and spending time outside. Family bike rides and hikes are at the top of her list.
What’s unique about this wonderful staffer? She is passionate about helping someone find his/her niche and flourish. (Ephesians 2:10 We are God’s masterpiece!) Some places she’s had the honor of fulfilling this passion include teaching downhill skiing at a camp in northern Wisconsin and kick starting the Taylor University Women’s Soccer Team.
What is one thing Michele hopes to accomplish being on staff at Grace? She said, “We have amazing people at Grace serving through our trips and connecting our Partners. My hope is to help equip these leaders as they grow personally and as they come alongside others.”

We have no doubt Michele will excel at this! Please leave her a comment below to welcome her aboard!

April, thanks for your note! If you'd like to connect about what trip may be best for you, I'd love to talk with you and hear your story. Will you message me if you are interested? Looking forward to seeing what unfolds for you! michelel@gracechurch.us

Hi Michele,I loved reading about all you've done and are doing. From what I read, I'm very much like you; however, for much of it I have yet to take action. Your life story has inspired me to make a mission trip happen next year as I've wanted it to for years now. Good luck to you in your new position! You will be a great asset to Grace!
