Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Daves of our lives...

Did you know Grace Church has seven Daves/Davids on our staff team? Thatís one for each Dave of the week! In this 7-day blog series, weíre highlighting each Dave/David, and sharing some of the things that make them unique.

Today Iím interviewing Dave Bolander. Interestingly enough, three of our Dave/Davids have a last name that starts with the letter ďBĒ. They probably get each otherís emails all the time. And since Dave Bolander prefers to go by ďDaveĒ, his email address is Also, he played a mean Javert in Graceís production of Les Miserables back in 2014.

CH: What is your name and how long have you worked at Grace?

DB: Dave Bolander. 13 years.

CH: Do you prefer to go by Dave or David? Why?

DB: I prefer Dave. It feels more laid back, less formal and not so stuffy. I'm not smart enough to be a David. My mom called me by my full name "David Craig Bolander" when I got in trouble, so Dave feels less "troublesome".

CH: Which day of the week do you most identify with and why?

DB: Monday is the day that I rest and recharge. Important to me as an introvert. More time for reading, resting, and doing some of the things I put off during the week. I can slow down and just focus on one thing at a time.

CH: Why do you love serving at Grace?

DB: I love helping people develop in their gifting and grow in their faith journeys

CH: What is your Enneagram number/profile? Explain a little bit about your personality based on your Enneagram profile.

DB: 5 with a 4 wing. I am a huge introvert with some extroverted expressions. I am always observing, processing, and feeling the world around me on a deep level. I best express my thoughts and emotions through artistic expressions like acting and singing.

CH: What is the most random photo saved on your phone?

DB: Picture of me rowing in a 4-person boat out at Eagle Creek Park when I was in high school (1984-ish). Someone had sent it to me through Facebook. I spent several summers rowing out at eagle creek and even rowed in the US Jr Nationals.

CH: Who is the last person you exchanged text messages with? What was the conversation about?

DB: Steve Clark. About buying a bicycle pump.

CH: What are some of your favorite podcasts right now?

DB: Truth for Life podcast with Alistair Begg. Listen here.

CH: Whatís in your Netflix queue right now?

DB: None. I just dropped Netflix in favor of Amazon Prime. But, my favorite show was probably Leverage.

Thanks to the one and ONLY Dave Bolander for being one of the best Daves of Our Lives at Grace Church. If you see him around, ask him for some rowing pointers.

I thank God for all MONDAVE has done to show us a little bit more of Jesus through his work in the Worship Arts. You are appreciated!
