New Guy, Big Mission

New Guy, Big Mission

Posted on December 08, 2016

It's our favorite time...time to welcome another new staff member, Shane Whybrew. Shane is stepping into the role of Pastor of Stewardship and Resource Development. So, what does that mean exactly? He will help Grace Church find new ways to fund various aspects of our ministries, buildings, church plants, etc. Whether it’s through grant writing, finding interested donors to fund the Care Center or other outreach opportunities, he will be discovering new avenues so that our ministries can continue to multiply at Grace and well beyond our walls too! And, he’s the perfect guy for the job. Why? Because Shane has been in ministry for over 20 years (he was just 8 when he started working;)!

Shane and his wife, Kris, have three wonderful kids. They have two girls (biologically), Sadie (18) and Lily (16), and a son, Kaleb (9), who is adopted from Ethiopia. If you are thinking about adopting, definitely contact Shane. He’s the perfect person to walk through the process with! In fact, he’s one of many staff members who’s adopted internationally. Like half of our staff, Shane is also a huge Cubs fan. And let’s be honest, we’re all still happy to be basking in that World Series Championship!

So, Shane might have one of the coolest random skills on staff (Hannah might be a close second). He can walk on stilts AND ride a unicycle (not at the same time…although we’re trying to convince him to). Who thinks he should come to service on stilts? Comment below and maybe we can convince him!

When asking Shane what he hopes to accomplish now that he is on staff, he said, “I hope to provide encouragement and support to those inside Grace and others outside the walls of Grace to invest in transformation both locally and globally.” With the skill set, heart and love of Christ Shane brings with him, we have no doubt he’ll be able to do that and more!

Now it’s time to welcome Shane! Leave a comment below to wish him well as a new staff person.

I couldn't find an email address for you on the staff pages, I'm sure I just overlooked it, but I was hoping to connect with you about the Financial Planning Ministry and find out more. Unfortunately I can't attend tomorrow, but could meet you at another time to discuss? My cell is 317-698-4088 if you'd like to text or call. Thanks
