One Simple Change

My name is Anna Pantaleon and I have struggled with my weight my entire life. Until recently, I was actually over 200 lbs.

By age 12, I had already tried every single "diet," plan and program out there. But, I always felt deprived or wasn't losing weight fast enough. So, I would just give up.

Around Christmas in 2015, after one of the hardest times of my life, I had had enough. My friend asked me to do a detox with her to help rid our bodies of processed junk and renew and revive us. I figured, "Why not, it cant hurt to try one more thing." After doing the 12 day detox with her, I was shocked and thrilled to have lost almost 25 lbs!! She asked me to join her in her business of inspiring healthy living and I could not say no!

After joining this company, I started taking their whole food capsules and protein shakes. The motto of the company is one simple change, so I made that my motto and made one simple change each month. That way I didn't feel bogged down with changes or get too overwhelmed. The first change I made was to had to stop drinking soda! I used to drink about 4-32oz sodas a day. And, you'll be happy to know that I have not had any since January 6, 2016!

By adding a simple change every month and going to the gym about 4 days a week, I could see my body slowly changing but I was still eating a lot of junk. I figured if I was staying under my calorie count then I was doing great-even if all my calories were from sugary processed foods. In August, I joined my company and started a 10 day shred. I thought, "Well I can do anything for 10 days." Which I did, but man was it hard! I did not realize how difficult it really was until I joined the online community of other people doing the shred. They all shared and this community has helped me to keep going. It was so amazing to learn what my body needs and how to look at food as just The community helped me stay on track by sharing recipes, encouraging me, and picking me up when I fell off track!

So, I continued to do a shred for 10 days every month. This meant giving up dairy, gluten, processed foods, refined sugars, alcohol, caffeine, and late night eating. At my biggest weight I was 280 lbs. And I told myself that I could not get higher then that. I have three small children and I was always tired, never wanted to play with them, and struggled to get through everyday things. Making a lifestyle change, learning how food affects my body, and determining to get healthy for my children was the best choice I have ever made. I am the healthiest I have ever been and I feel amazing! I can make it through the day without napping, I can run and play with my kids, and I have tons of energy. I have lost almost 120 lbs. So far!! I have learned to eat smaller portions, that I CAN say NO, and that it's okay to treat yourself every once in awhile. If I want to celebrate, I allow myself to have a piece of cake; I just don't eat the entire cake now. I am so grateful for my friend who took a chance on me and invited me to join her in healthy living. It is a struggle for sure, but one that I am so grateful I started!
