Young Adults & Secret Recipes, Welcome Maggie

Young Adults & Secret Recipes, Welcome Maggie

Posted on November 18, 2016

We have another new staff member! Let’s all welcome Maggie Johnson! If that name sounds familiar to you, it should! Her husband is one of the Directors of Musical Worship at Grace! She started coming to Grace when her husband began working at the Fishers campus in 2015. Maggie is also a super volunteer and is involved in nearly every ministry area of Grace! She’s even been on a mission trip to Rwanda! Make sure you ask her about it sometime.

Maggie graduated from Moody Bible Institute (just like Dave Rod’) in 2012 (…well, Dave may have graduated just a “few” years earlier) and promptly married the bearded Will Johnson that summer. Before coming to Grace, she worked in development at a nonprofit (thank you for letting us have Maggie, Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic!) and in medical research at an Alzheimer’s research facility.
In her spare time, Maggie enjoys running, writing and reading. Her favorite books include Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Two-Part Invention by Madeleine L’Engle and Bread & Wine by Shauna Niequist. Like most avid readers, she prefers a real book in her hands…none of that fake Kindle stuff for Maggie.

Something cool about Maggie, she’s a quarter Chinese and can cook a mean fried rice. In fact, her fried rice recipe is a top secret recipe that her grandpa used to make in his own restaurant!

When asking Maggie what she hopes to accomplish in this position, she said, “I want to see more young adults integrated into the overall body of Grace Church, using their gifts side-by-side with other generations to bring hope and healing to our community.” Well, we whole-heartedly believe she will help them see their potential and make this a reality. Welcome to Grace staff Maggie!

Two Part Invention is one of my fav picks too!
