Invite a Friend

Invite a Friend to Easter Online!

We know it can be difficult to invite your friend, family member, or co-worker to church. But, we all know how transformative the loving power of Jesus is and why it's so important. Think of how your own life is different because of your relationship with Jesus and your church community. While we understand it can be awkward to invite someone to church, that barrier is removed this year. Now, more than ever, people are inviting friends and family to join them for church online.

This Easter, we're challenging you to invite at least one person who isn't currently involved in a church anywhere! Below are tons of great ideas and suggestions just for you. We can't wait to see what God does with those who are invited!

Why It's So Valuable

While we all know why it's important to extend an invite, you might not realize how easy it can be. It might seem as though people don't want to be invited, yet it's quite the opposite. Check out these interesting stats from Dr. Rainer, The Unchurched Next Door:

  • 82% of the unchurched are likely to attend church if invited

  • Only 2% of church members are likely to extend an invite in a given year

  • 7 out of 10 unchurched people say they've never been invited to church

  • 67% of family members say they'd be likely to attend church if invited

How To Invite

Face-to Face (or Facetime-to-Facetime)

Like it says above, 82% of people are likely to say "YES" to your personal invite. And, if they say no, that's okay too. So, what's holding you back from asking?

Personal Message

Along with face-to-face invitations, a personal message goes a long way. Take a moment to simply send a text message, email, or DM on social inviting someone to join you. We know this can be intimidating so we’ve included a simple sample message below that you can copy and paste. We trust that the Spirit of God is already at work in the lives of those you are about to invite.

Sample Message

Hey! I hope you’re having a great day! I just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you and wondered if you’d be interested in joining me for church on Easter? I would love to go together! Talk to you soon!

Enjoy A Meal "Together"

Social Media Shareables

Social media can be a powerful tool to connect with people. Let people know you’re coming to Easter at Grace by responding to our Facebook Event with “Going” and sharing it. We’ve also created a number of shareable graphics that you can post on your own social media accounts, tag people you’d like to invite, etc., or use them however you’d like to help spread the word that we want people to find their home in Jesus.
