I remember a time early on in my career when companies I worked for would spend thousands of dollars to send employees to skill-development conferences. These expensive events were the way to go for learning about proven best practices from industry-leading professionals all while getting the motivating energy boost of a room full of people eager to capture innovative new ideas. Back then, I would never have guessed that we were only a few years away from being able to participate in these types of cutting-edge events remotely using simulcast technology.
I first experienced the brilliant blend of simulcast technology and community when I attended the Global Leadership Summit at Grace Church several years back. I welcomed the opportunity to participate since I had recently started working from home as an independent contractor, and the cost of traveling for such an event was not an option for our growing family at that point. Being in a room full of purposeful leaders at Grace Church was so energizing!
In light of our current sermon series, Virtual Reality, I’m excited to announce for women at Grace Church that we’ve organized another opportunity harnessing the technological capability of the simulcast! On April 13, we are serving as a host site for the Lifeway Women Simulcast Pursuing Christ Together—From Right Where You Are. We will fill a room full of women who are ready to unite in a shared pursuit of Christ. Together, we will savor a day filled with worship, prayer, connection, food, and inspirational teachings. Since it is a Lifeway Women event, be assured that we will hear from many notable Christ-loving women who have poured their hearts into sharing God’s Word and encouraging other women around the world with strengthened faith.
I hope you’ll join us for this transformative day as our church demonstrates how the tools of technology can be used for good. God is enabling us to transcend physical boundaries and embrace a synergy between technology and community, engaging with women in our own community as well as many others around the world. I am so excited to witness and experience this day as we ignite a collective passion for spiritual growth together.
