Message Transcript

Every human being was created to live within a community of love.

  • A community in which the song that is sung over them is ""I like you as you are!""

  • A community that invites people out of isolation into family

  • A community in which normal sinners, fools and evil people are loved the way they need to be love.

  • A community that will not throw hippies out the door.

  • A community that lovingly insists that everyone surrender their lives to Jesus…the only means to become a child of God.


3 Enemies of a Loving Community:

  • The devil

  • The world

  • The flesh


19When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

From our sinful inclination comes dissension and division which breeds tribalism.
From our sinful inclination comes hostility, quarreling, anger which breeds hate. 
From our sinful inclination comes jealousy and selfishness 

You and I have sinful inclinations. We are predisposed to create isolation not breed community. It is our Goliath!

22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Galatians 5:22-25

And the one thing that's necessary for you to be a warm, loving, welcoming hospitable, engaging, accepting person is to Live by the Spirit.

The one thing that's necessary for your family to be a warm, loving, welcoming hospitable, engaging, accepting family is to live by the Spirit.

The one thing that's necessary for your Rooted Group or LifeGroup to be a warm, loving, welcoming hospitable, engaging, accepting group is to live by the Spirit.

Live by the Spirit and YOU will create a family of love!

Live by the Spirit and WE will create a community of love!
